[Peace] War is political. War is economic. OBAMA.

My conclusion from all I know about the subject of war:  It is  political. It 
is economic. It is not generally high-minded, principled, or  moral. It is 
political, and it is economic - it's cold, hard, and cruel.

That being said, in November we have two choices for the American  Presidency 
and for the new "Leader of the Free World." I doubt that anyone  working for 
the cause of peace and justice can have any doubt about these two  choices: 
That  John McCain is not our hope for peace and justice in this  world. That 
being said, I also realize some of you are so disappointed with the  Democratic 
Party (as I have been) that you will just sit out the election   - which poses 
the real risk of putting McCain in the White House.  That  being said, I am 
writing to this list, not wearing my CCPM hat, but as Team  Leader for the 
Chester County (Region 3/Central Chester County) Obama campaign.  Many on this list 
are already heavily involved in this campaign and worked  extremely hard in 
the primary campaign. Those of us who did work for Obama know  that we were not 
involved in a political campaign - we were really involved in a  MOVEMENT, a 
movement for our children's future - a movement for the world,  not just our 
country.  Those of us committed to Barack Obama (as I have  been, totally, 
since 2004) know that he holds the key to a better future for our  country and for 
the world.  Some of you aren't involved - but would  like to be. Some of you 
really don't want to be involved - if so,  hit "delete" now.

 CCPM DOES NOT OFFICIALLY, AS AN ORGANIZATION, ENDORSE  ANY POLITICAL 
CANDIDATE OR PARTY. 

I do not intend to use this list to persuade anyone - and I'm not  interested 
in protracted e-mail  arguments about who should be President or  whether it 
even really matters.  However, from time to time I might feel  that I need to 
write to everyone on this list to give you an opportunity to be  part of the 
effort that I see as our best hope for peace and justice in  this world:  
Barack Obama.

Immediate needs:

If you want to be a volunteer in the Obama campaign,  e-mail:

name/phone/address/e-mail/municipality/preference  for volunteer activities if you have preferences 
(please  provide all) to our Volunteer,  Canvassing, Office, and  Phonebanking 
Coordinators.  The number and types of JOBS to be done  will be too many to 
count! Our Executive Committee has been meeting, making  plans, anticipating 
needs. The coming weeks will see the opening of a new office  here in West Chester 
and an influx of trained staff members and volunteers from  all over the 
country - Chester County will once again be ON THE MAP in  this election. We 
already have two recently arrived, highly trained and  committed "Obama Fellows" 
working full-time in this county! In case  you don't know it:  Chester County 
was one of 7 counties in this state that  went for Obama in the primary - all 
because of an incredible volunteer force  working hard all spring.  
Additionally, we in Chester County registered  more new and "switched-party" voters for 
the primary than any other county in  the state except Philadelphia!  It was 
probably the most amazing experience  I have ever had - the most exhilarating, 
the most thrilling! And it's all  starting all over again!  Groundhog Day is 
here!

FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 28 - we need you now  to host a HOUSE-PARTY FOR OBAMA in 
your neighborhood on June  28. This is a HUGE national event, and we need 
volunteers NOW to host at least  SEVEN of these parties in Central Chester County - 
to open up your house to  this huge national event on June 28.  If you host a 
party, I'm sure  attendees will bring coffee, desserts, snacks - all you need 
to do is open up  your home! Go to _www.barackobama.com_

name/phone/address/e-mail - and I will pass that info on to our Obama Fellows  who are 
coordinating this effort here in Chester County.  Time is short! So  you need to make 
that decision today so I can connect you will support  help.

(http://www.barackobama.com)  (store section) and  order yard signs, buttons, 
bumper stickers IN  BULK on this basis: You order, have material either shipped 
to YOU or  to ME directly (let me know, and I will provide you the address - 
actually, best  to ship to me) - AND WE WILL DISTRIBUTE THE MATERIALS AND PAY 
YOU BACK  as we collect donations for these materials - we would take charge of 
making  sure you get your money back over time as we take it in (or you can 
donate it  whenever you like, of course!). I fully expect an influx of FREE 
"stuff" as the  campaign gears up in September - but, until then, we're on our 
own and need to  cover Chester County with Obama "stuff."
